SEMH Teaching Assistant - High Peak- January start

Do you have experience working with children/young people with SEMH (Social Emotional Mental Health) difficulties or PTSD?

Prospero Teaching are supporting a secondary school in the High Peak who are looking for a committed individual to join the team on a full time basis. You will be supporting students on a 121 or small group basis and it is essential that you have recent experience supporting young people who can display challenging behaviour.

You must also be available full time, part time applicants will not be considered by the client.

The role is to start as soon as possible and will continue for the rest of the academic year.

The Minimum Rate of Pay - GBP100 per day

EXPERIENCE

Relevant experience in a school or similar setting.

Experience of working with children and young people with special educational needs and/or social, emotional and mental health difficulties.

Experience of effectively and positively managing a class and leading learning with groups of pupils, using appropriate strategies to enable them to settle to learn.

TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

GCSE English/Maths at grade A to C or equivalent.
Commitment to all CPD offered.
Team Teach training would be beneficial to this role, however this can be provided for free.
Up to date safeguarding training issued in the last 12 months (essential, however training can be provided)
Up to date prevent awareness & FGM training issued in the last 3 years (essential, however, training can be provided)
Recent behaviour management training (desirable)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide a minimum of two professional related references
Provide a full CV from high school to present with gaps explained
