Our client, a highly regarded and well-established independent firm based in High Wycombe, is seeking an ambitious Accounts Assistant to join their team. The Role

As an Accounts Assistant, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, delivering high-quality accounting services, and supporting the senior team. Your key duties will include:

  • Bank Reconciliations – Ensuring accuracy and completeness in financial records.
  • Maintaining Client Accounts – Posting invoices, receipts, and payments in accounting software.
  • Preparation of VAT Returns – Assisting with VAT calculations and submissions.
  • Management Accounts Support – Providing accurate financial data to support reporting.
  • Assisting with Year-End Accounts – Working with senior accountants to prepare financial statements.
  • Client Liaison – Communicating effectively with clients to resolve queries and provide support.

You will play a vital role in ensuring the financial integrity of client accounts while building strong relationships with clients and colleagues alike.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:

? Experience in an accounts role – Ideally within an accountancy practice or a finance department. ? Proficiency in Bank Reconciliations – A must-have skill for this position. ? AAT Level 3/4 qualified or studying – Or equivalent qualifications/experience. ? Strong attention to detail – Ensuring accuracy in financial reporting. ? Excellent communication skills – Ability to liaise confidently with clients and colleagues. ? Experience with accounting software – Knowledge of Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage would be beneficial. ? A proactive mindset – Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
