We have several fantastic temporary positions available working with our client Buckinghamshire Council!OverviewOn behalf of Buckinghamshire Council, Pertemps Recruitment have an exciting opportunity for a Lettings Officer to join the Choice Based Lettings team in High Wycombe. Working alongside the Choice Based Lettings Team Leader, you will play an important role in providing expert support in the delivery of an efficient, high quality and customer-focussed allocations service within Part VI of the Housing Act 1996 for a diverse client group including vulnerable and disadvantaged households within the framework of the Councils adopted statutory Allocations PolicyTemporary – 6 weeksHours – Monday to Friday – 37 hours per week, 9:00am to 5:30pmPay Rate – £17.61 per hour PAYEStart Date – ASAPWork Schedule – Mix of office working and home workingLocation – High Wycombe, HP11 1BBAbout the roleAs a Choice Based Lettings Officer, you will have a number of responsibilities including, but not limited to the following:
  • assess applications for housing, monitor and upkeep the housing register and to effectively, in a timely manner, provide nominations of residents to Registered providers
  • provide a housing options advice service to all those seeking accommodation, giving relevant, appropriate and accurate housing advice on all housing options available including Choice Based Lettings, low-cost home ownership, mutual exchanges, under occupation, transfers, and intermediate/affordable rent
  • administer the advertising and shortlisting process for vacancies and undertake nominations to Registered Provider partners
  • verify all nominations using a risk based approach to possible fraud, prior to any offer of accommodation being made within agreed timescales
  • collaborate with Homelessness & Advice function, Private Rental & TA, and Grants & Adaptations to help create and deliver a single resident journey and support residents to maintain and sustain tenancies
  • be responsible for the general maintenance of information and content of the Bucks Home Choice website, or any subsequent web platform for the Council’s housing register, in conjunction with the management team
About youThe successful candidate(s) should have:
  • Part 6 Housing Register experience is essential 
  • Experience of locata preferred but not essential
  • Local Authority experience preferable but not essential, could have worked for a registered provider
