Role: Bookkeeper

Location: Hinckley

Hours: Monday to Friday 08:30-17:00 or 09:00-17:30

Salary: £28,000-£35,000 DOE

An opportunity has now arisen for a experienced and confident Bookkeeper to provide financial accounting and reporting for our Hinckley based client.

About the role:

You will provide financial support and expertise to the General Manager and Director whilst building up the foundations of the accounting procedures. The successful candidate will have previous experience in dealing with SME Accounts, as well as providing financial guidance in terms for a fast-growing business. You will be responsible for the Company’s daily financial accounting and you will be exposed to all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget, and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and overseeing the purchase ledger and queries
  • Prepare and Submit Payroll
  • Assist in preparing monthly accounts (P&L and balance sheet) for three companies
  • Prepare and submit information to statutory authorities including HMRC
  • Liaise with external advisors on the preparation of statutory financial information and insurances
  • Update and maintain accuracy with forecasting models (P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow)
  • Ad-hoc jobs as required

Qualifications:

Essential

  • Minimum 5 year’s previous experience in a similar role
  • Superb spoken and written communication skills
  • A professional manner
  • Excellent computer literacy

Qualifications:

Desired

  • ACCA, CIMA qualified
  • Knowledge of SASS and VAT Returns
  • Experience with tax and regulatory compliance issues
  • Preparation of annual statutory Accounts for submission to external accountants

Technical skills and behavioural competencies:

  • Confidence, tact and a persuasive manner
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Good 'people skills' for working with a range of employees and customers
  • The ability to lead and motivate a team and be proactive.
