As a Catering Team Leader, you will provide a high standard dining experience in a fast-paced environment, ensuring a pleasant, safe, and efficient setting with excellent customer service. Reporting to the Catering Manager, you will be responsible for the catering provision consistently being in line with standards and safety procedures while meeting agreed financial targets.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Ensure that the catering operation complies with all laws, regulations, and policies including health and safety, allergen safety, food safety, and company standards.
  • Oversee the preparation of the dining room, serving of food, labelling, and allergy management.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all dining areas.
  • Conduct regular checks and prepare for audits/inspections.
  • Manage customer-focused service, ensuring quality and dietary requirements are met.
  • Oversee all aspects of dining from preparation to service and clean down.
  • Manage, train, and oversee the catering team to ensure excellent service.
  • Control financial aspects of the operation for maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Maintain and enhance facilities and resources in compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Manage personal development and contribute to the overall running of the centre.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 months experience in a catering environment.
  • Experience in leading and managing teams in a supervisory role.
  • Proficient in delivering training and workplace monitoring.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools like Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Level 3 food safety certification.
  • Management qualification (e.g., ILM Level 3) is desirable.
  • GCSE Grade A-C in English and Maths or equivalent functional skills.

Additional Information:
  • Due to the nature of the role, successful candidates will be required to obtain satisfactory enhanced disclosures from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) or a Protection of Vulnerable Groups Check (PVG), which will be paid for.
  • All staff must have received two satisfactory references prior to starting employment.
