We are recruiting for a Hires and Sales Manager for a charitable organisation based in Hitchin.
This is a permanent Part Time position for 21 hours a week, the hours are flexible but will be between Monday to Friday.
This role is office based , but on the odd occasion it would you would be OK from home.
The main purpose of the role would be to drive income generation through commercial activity - specifically venue hire and through a small on-site shop.
The successfully candidate will have a background in event management and promoting venue hire.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the process and delivery of venue hire, from initial enquiry through to completion.
- Work alongside the CEO to develop a hire strategy.
- Manage relationships with regular and new clients including negotiation of contracts.
- Research prospects and proactively seek and develop new opportunities.
- Work closely with the Marketing Manager to promote venue hire to relevant parties.
- Provide reports and data to the CEO and Board of Trustees about sales and promotion activity, market conditions and other relevant information.
- Able to attend board meetings when required.
- Evaluate and gather feedback from clients to support continual development and improvement.
- Actively seek to broaden the local client base and represent the organisation when required.
- Manage the shop - including stock management and stock taking.
- Manage the hire and sales budget ensuring that all expenditure comes within agreed limits.
- Plus other ad hic duties when required.
Person Specification:
- Experience in a sales or client management role
- Proven track record in generation income and reaching targets
- Strong administrative and organisational skills.
- The ability to work well on your own but also be able to collaborate well with others.
- Good business acumen and budget management experience.
- Excellent communication skills - both written and oral.
