We are seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our team in a historic building, providing care and rehabilitation to individuals with neurological conditions. This role offers the opportunity to work within a passionate team, committed to recovery and personal goal achievement.
Day-to-day of the role:- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide occupational therapy within the BIRT neurobehavioral model to service users with acquired brain injury (ABI).
- Manage and prioritise a caseload of service users with complex needs, under supervision for more complex cases.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop treatment plans, implement interventions, and evaluate outcomes based on evidence-based and service user-centred principles.
- Develop care programmes, ensure detailed handovers to rehabilitation support workers or therapy assistants, and monitor and modify treatment to measure progress.
- Perform detailed risk assessments, update regularly, and communicate effectively with the team.
- Provide intervention and advice on social and lifestyle needs, including referrals to other agencies and services.
- Degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy.
- Registered with the HCPC.
- Practice placement qualification or willingness to undertake this within the first year.
- Minimum of 18 months post-registration experience in inpatient or community rehabilitation, plus 6 months prequalification experience in a relevant role.
- Experience working with service users with neurological deficits or acquired brain injury.
- Knowledge of specialist interventions used in neurological rehabilitation, such as cognitive rehabilitation.
