Human Capital Partners are partnering with a £230m, 180 branch, multi-site retail business based in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire to identify and appoint their Financial Controller. Successful candidates will be ACA/ACCA or CIMA qualified and will have finance leadership experience gained from a multi-site environment with exposure to stock.

The company offer an excellent bonus of 30% of salary (which it has achieved 100% of in the last 10 years)

This role will be based in the office 5 days a week.

Candidates will be immediately available or available at short notice.

Key Responsibilities:

· Lead and manage the finance function - Including the purchase ledger, general ledger, treasury and management accounting functions.

  • Drive continuous improvement and development within the team - Providing mentorship to uplift and empower team members, enhance skills, improve performance and develop succession.
  • Preparation and review of monthly internal and external financial reports, and annual financial statements.
  • Responsible for the integrity of the balance sheet - Ensuring high quality balance sheet reconciliations are prepared and reviewed in a timely manner.
  • Manage the end-to-end finance monthly close process, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Oversee treasury / cash-management including daily monitoring and cash flow forecasting.
  • Support the preparation of internal and shareholder Budgets and Forecasts.
  • Continuously review processes and controls - Identify shortcomings vs. best practice, identify opportunities to improve timelines through streamlining and optimal use of technology, and prioritise the system and control improvements to implement over time.
  • Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to support executive decision-making.
  • Oversee internal and external audit processes to ensure successful, clean audit outcomes.
  • Ad-hoc support to the CFO and executive team.
