Job Title: Team Leader - Children’s Residential CareLocation: [Hoddesdon]Salary: £14.00 per hour
About the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated Team Leader to support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day operations of a children’s residential home. This role involves leading and developing a team to ensure high-quality care and support for children and young people, in line with Ofsted standards and Children’s Home Regulations. You will act as a role model, coaching staff and ensuring young people receive the best possible care and opportunities for personal growth.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the management and development of the home and staff.
- Ensure compliance with Children’s Home Regulations and Ofsted’s quality standards.
- Support young people’s personal development, well-being, and transition into adulthood.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Support Workers, ensuring high performance and adherence to best practices.
- Oversee the creation and implementation of placement plans and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans.
- Promote young people’s engagement in social, recreational, and community activities.
- Maintain a safe, nurturing, and homely environment for children and young people.
- Liaise with families, professionals, and external agencies to coordinate care and support.
- Ensure effective health & safety measures and risk assessments are in place.
- Support in external meetings and reviews, ensuring young people’s progress is well documented and communicated.
- Experience working in children’s residential care or a similar setting.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and team management skills.
- Knowledge of Children’s Home Regulations, safeguarding procedures, and Ofsted standards.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and on-call duties as required.
- A relevant Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) (or willingness to work towards it).
- Enhanced DBS clearance required.
