Science Solutions are looking to recruit a General Manager for one of our clients based in the Herefordshire area.

In order to be considered for the General Manager position you must have experience in testing materials, mainly metals. You must also have experience in implementing and upkeeping of ISO17025 quality management systems.

As a General Manager, you will be responsible for growing external revenue for the business, implementing QMS and improving services to internal and external customers. You will also be responsible for helping the organisation to achieve NADCAP accreditation. 

Role requirements

  • Degree educated in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Materials Engineering or a closely related technical subject.
  • NADCAP experience essential. 
  • Previous experience in testing materials, mainly metals.
  • Experience of implementing and upkeeping of ISO17025 quality management systems.
  • Previous management experience of a mid-large team.
  • Previous experience in the aerospace, metal production or nickel alloys industry highly desirable.
  • The successful applicant must also be capable of formulating business strategies to maximise output and growth.

Role responsibilities

  • Actively manage a team of up to 40 technical members of the team, varying from technicians to supervisors/managers.
  • Take up the overall responsibility and authority of all technical operations within the laboratory.
  • Implementing and upkeeping quality systems within the facility, primarily ISO17025.
  • Maintain and improve services to internal and external customers.
