Quality Engineer / Quality Technician
Location: Redditch

About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated Quality Engineer / Quality Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all manufactured and incoming products meet strict quality standards. You will support the Quality and Operations teams by implementing inspection processes, managing non-conformance issues, and ensuring compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and defence industry requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and assess manufactured and goods-inward materials against product specifications.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and documentation.
  • Identify, report, and manage defects and non-conformance issues.
  • Conduct in-process and final inspections, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Support APQP requirements, including PPAP and FAIRs.
  • Assist in maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) and ISO 9001:2015 accreditation.
  • Conduct internal and shop floor audits to ensure process compliance.
  • Provide feedback to improve manufacturing and quality processes.
  • Maintain calibration records for equipment.
  • Work closely with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to uphold high-quality standards.
Key Skills & Competencies
  • Experience in a quality-focused role within an electronics or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, technical documentation, and Defence Standards.
  • Familiarity with electronic/electrical components and cabling.
  • Ability to use test and measurement equipment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
Desirable Experience
  • IPC-A-610/IPC/WHMA-A-620 qualification or experience.
  • Knowledge of lean methodologies (5S, POKA YOKE).
  • Experience with calibration equipment and processes.
