The Role

As a Catering Assistant, you will be an integral part of the team, ensuring that pupils and staff receive high-quality meals in a clean and friendly environment. Your role will be varied, including food preparation, serving meals, and maintaining the dining area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Basic preparation of food and beverages, including vegetable prep and snack assembly
  • Simple cooking tasks using prepared food
  • Organising and controlling food service points
  • Serving meals and snacks, including transported meals
  • Assisting in promoting meal services to pupils, staff, and visitors
  • Setting up and clearing the dining area, including tables, chairs, and serving points
  • General kitchen and dining room duties, including washing up and cleaning
  • Recording temperatures for health and safety compliance
  • Operating tills and maintaining related records
