The Role
As a Catering Assistant, you will be an integral part of the team, ensuring that pupils and staff receive high-quality meals in a clean and friendly environment. Your role will be varied, including food preparation, serving meals, and maintaining the dining area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Basic preparation of food and beverages, including vegetable prep and snack assembly
- Simple cooking tasks using prepared food
- Organising and controlling food service points
- Serving meals and snacks, including transported meals
- Assisting in promoting meal services to pupils, staff, and visitors
- Setting up and clearing the dining area, including tables, chairs, and serving points
- General kitchen and dining room duties, including washing up and cleaning
- Recording temperatures for health and safety compliance
- Operating tills and maintaining related records

The Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for someone enthusiastic, reliable, and enjoys working as part of a team.
Essential Criteria:
- Physically fit to perform duties such as lifting, moving, and cleaning.
- Ability to work independently and under supervision
Desirable Criteria:
- Basic Food Hygiene qualification or equivalent.
- Previous catering experience.
- Knowledge of hygiene and health and safety procedures.
