We are seeking an experienced and passionate Kitchen Manager to oversee our back of house operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a solid background in food production, ensuring that our kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and safety. The Kitchen Manager will be responsible for supervising the kitchen team, managing food preparation processes, and upholding the values of our traditional family-friendly pub.

Duties

  • Supervise and coordinate daily kitchen operations, ensuring all staff adhere to health and safety regulations.
  • Oversee food production processes, ensuring high-quality dishes are prepared consistently.
  • Manage inventory levels, ordering supplies as needed to maintain efficient kitchen operations.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate kitchen staff, fostering a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and professional growth.
  • Develop menus in collaboration with the culinary team, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with hygiene standards.
  • Handle any customer complaints or feedback regarding food quality or service promptly and professionally.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a kitchen management role within the hospitality or restaurant industry.
  • Strong background in food preparation and culinary techniques, with a passion for cooking.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a diverse team effectively.
  • Familiarity with health regulations and best practices in food safety.
  • Previous experience in bartending or hotel kitchens is advantageous but not essential.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with staff and customers alike.
