Job Summary

Responsible for planning, managing, and resourcing contracts, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget while meeting client expectations. Leading operational teams to drive excellence in performance and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide operational input for bid submissions and marketing content.

  • Attend tender adjudications, advising on programme and cost risks.

  • Ensure contract programmes are developed, communicated, and risks mitigated.

  • Manage and assess sub-contractor performance.

  • Ensure site teams have necessary support and resources.

  • Oversee contract documentation, reporting, and record-keeping.

  • Monitor progress reports and evaluate performance.

  • Provide technical and contractual support on-site.

  • Ensure compliance with HSQE legislation and company policies.

  • Promote and enforce safe working practices.

  • Contribute to policy updates and ensure adherence.

  • Work with commercial team on project forecasting.

  • Identify and communicate potential claims or variations.

  • Review contract performance to meet financial targets.

  • Support commercial team on contractual or legal matters.

  • Approve supplier and subcontractor orders.

  • Oversee recruitment and availability of skilled operators and site teams.

  • Set clear expectations, provide motivation, and manage performance.

  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients and industry bodies.

  • Investigate and resolve client issues efficiently.

  • Prepare operational board reports providing contract performance insights.

Person Specification

  • HNC or Degree in a construction-related subject.

  • IOSH Managing Safely & IOSH Directing Safely.

  • Membership of a professional body (desirable).e.g. Institution of Demolition Engineers or Chartered Institute of Building

  • Full UK driving licence.

  • Experience in contracts and operations management, ideally in demolition or enabling works.

  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.

  • Ability to work under pressure and drive projects forward.

  • Proficient in MS Office and project programming systems.
