Location of the Engineering Shift Supervisor role: Dewsbury

The company are a market-leading Engineering and Manufacturing Business and due to growth within the business, they require a to support their continued growth.

The ideal candidate will have experience leading teams within a Manufacturing/Engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities of the Engineering Shift Supervisor

  • Organise the day-to-day duties of your teams.
  • Oversee that the loading on each team member contributes to the overall goal of the team.
  • Locking up at the end of the shift
  • Ensure that the booking of production hours is performed correctly.
  • Identify and rectify any problems which may arise.
  • Should this not be possible, escalate to front-line management.
  • Coordinate the work of the team with other departments where necessary to ensure the efficiency of your team.
  • Look ahead to the immediate future build requirements and ensure enough consumables and 'Bought for Job' parts are available from the stores.
  • Actively update the workshop job boards.
  • As required, attend and participate in prebuild meetings.

Key requirements of the Engineering Shift Supervisor

  • Relevant previous experience in a team leader or supervisor role.
  • Have experience in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Good communication, both written and oral.
  • The ability to complete tasks promptly.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • The ability to work and make decisions under pressure
