About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Fibre Engineer with expertise in copper cabling to join our team at Gatwick Airport. This role will involve installing, servicing, and splicing fibre optic and copper cable systems across various airport locations. The position includes a mix of day and night shifts, providing vital support for network infrastructure at the airport.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, service, and maintain fibre optic and copper cabling systems.
  • Conduct splicing, testing, and troubleshooting of fibre and copper networks.
  • Perform fault finding and repairs to ensure uninterrupted network services.
  • Work on both new installations and upgrades of existing cabling systems.
  • Maintain compliance with safety regulations and airport-specific standards.
  • Keep accurate documentation and provide regular reports on work completed.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in fibre optic installations, splicing, and maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of copper cabling, installation, and repairs.
  • Strong technical skills in testing and troubleshooting fibre and copper networks.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including a mix of day and night shifts, and weekends.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety practices in technical environments.
