Job Opportunity: Field Service Engineer – Gatwick Area

Job Purpose: We have an exciting opportunity for a Field Service Engineer to join our Service Department, working onsite at Gatwick Airport. In this role, you’ll be part of a collaborative, knowledgeable team dedicated to providing high-quality support. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting, servicing, installing, and repairing Trace and X-Ray equipment at customer locations to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.

Due to the sensitive nature of this position, applicants must be eligible for UK security clearance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective repairs, servicing, and maintenance of Trace and X-Ray equipment at customer sites.
  • Conduct customer training as required, ensuring proper usage and maintenance of equipment.
  • Document inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities accurately.
  • Manage repair parts cycle time and ensure efficient ordering and return of parts.
  • Review and address open issues, and prepare formal reports for customers.
  • Maintain, calibrate, and test tools and equipment to ensure precision and accuracy.
  • Offer technical support to customers and team members.
  • Participate in site surveys, pilot programs, special projects, and team meetings.
  • Build strong relationships with senior Field Service Engineers and Product Managers.
  • Adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies at all times.

About You:

  • Qualifications: Level 3 Engineering qualification in electrical, electronic, or mechanical engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in reading electrical/mechanical schematics, with strong troubleshooting abilities and field repair experience.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Office Suite, with an aptitude for learning specialized software.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach.
  • Attributes: Self-motivated, reliable, and accountable, with the ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Flexibility: Willing to travel at short notice and comfortable with manual handling.
