We are seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs Learning Support Assistant SEN LSA to join our team. The successful candidate will provide 1:1 support to primary school pupils with ASD, ensuring their safety, well-being, and access to learning opportunities. This role is integral to facilitating the full integration of SEN pupils into classroom activities and the wider school environment.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide 1:1 support for pupils with ASD, facilitating their full integration into classroom activities.
  • Implement tailored learning programs and activities to meet individual learning and social needs.
  • Work closely with the SENCO, class teachers, and external agencies to support the pupils’ educational and behavioural development.
  • Monitor and report on the pupils’ progress, contributing to Individual Education Plans (IEP) and annual reviews.
  • Prepare and adapt learning materials and resources to support the pupils’ engagement and learning.
  • Promote positive behaviour and assist with conflict resolution in line with school policies.
  • Participate in professional development and training relevant to the role and SEN practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience working with children with SEN in an educational setting.
  • A patient, caring, and adaptable approach to working with children.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or SEN support are desirable.
  • Commitment to the school’s ethos and policies, including safeguarding and child protection.
