Group Finance Director - construction £100-£140K pa Hornchurch, Essex

Amdas is proud to support this highly successful organisation in the recruitment of a Finance Director to join the Senior Management Team.

Reporting into the MD and managing your own team, your role would be to support the Group within further successes and act as a member of the Main Board. This would suit an energetic and focused individual who genuinely wants to be a part of their exciting journey.

Main duties:

  • Formation of Financial Strategy; lead in the development of a financial strategy, supported by budgets, forecasts and analysis;
  • External Stakeholder Management; manage the relationship with bankers and auditors, ensuring the annual audit process across the Group runs smoothly;
  • Periodic Reporting; lead and develop the finance teams across the Group to ensure timely, accurate and insightful management information, including weekly Flash and monthly Board Packs, with commentary, and appropriate measures indicating performance against strategy;
  • Budgeting/Forecasting; oversee the preparation of a financial strategic plan. Lead on development of budgets, financial planning, forecasts and models that enable effective decision making in the context of commercial opportunities, with a clear focus on risk / reward. Ensure appropriate budgetary controls are in place and monitor costs against budget;
  • Risk management; play an active role in identifying new potential risks. Ensure robust systems and controls exist throughout the Group and ensure risks are mitigated.
  • Project accounting, being the lead on all project and acquisition accounting
  • Maintaining a high level of visibility, lead, coach, and mentor the finance teams, instilling a culture of continuous improvement. Oversee any required recruitment within the finance teams
  • Team building and communication; ensure that finance teams in all Group companies engage and partner appropriately, seeking to add value to financial planning across the organisation
  • Operational integration; support and promote the consolidation and integration of international entities into the Group consolidation model
  • Analysis; interrogating management information, offer regular and insightful commentary on the commercial, operational and financial performance of Group companies.

The Person:

- Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA)

- Previous and significant experience within the construction sector
