Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Head of Business to lead our Business department and inspire our students to excel in their studies. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering a high-quality Business Studies curriculum, leading a team of committed teachers, and ensuring that all students achieve their academic potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Department Leadership: Lead and manage the Business Studies department, setting high standards for teaching and learning. Provide guidance and support to department staff, fostering a collaborative and motivated team culture.

  • Curriculum Development: Design, implement, and review the Business Studies curriculum to meet national standards and the needs of our students. Stay updated with educational trends to ensure curriculum relevance and effectiveness.

  • Teaching and Learning: Deliver engaging and challenging Business Studies lessons that encourage students to develop critical thinking and analytical skills. Provide support to students of varying abilities to maximise their potential.

  • Student Assessment: Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and adapting teaching strategies accordingly. Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations, helping them to achieve their target grades.

  • Resource Management: Oversee the department's resources, including budget management and the procurement of materials. Ensure resources are effectively allocated to enhance teaching and learning.

  • Professional Development: Identify training needs within the department and support the ongoing professional development of staff. Encourage innovative teaching practices and provide mentoring to new team members.

  • Parental Engagement: Establish strong partnerships with parents to communicate student progress and address any academic concerns. Participate in parent-teacher meetings and provide regular updates on department activities.

  • School Community Involvement: Actively participate in whole-school initiatives, promoting Business Studies within the wider school community and fostering a positive learning environment.

Key Requirements:
