Location: Horsham

Are you a detail-oriented finance professional with a passion for keeping the numbers in line and processes efficient? We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Assistant to join this dynamic team in Horsham!

Key Responsibilities:

Finance:

  • Keep the accounting system (Sage) up-to-date and accurate.
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations and ensure they are correct.
  • Manage the banking of received funds, payroll payments, and VAT returns on time.
  • Oversee the submission and accuracy of employee expense claims.

Purchase Ledger:

  • Maintain and manage the Purchase Order Log, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Place orders with suppliers upon receiving authorised purchase orders, and check invoices against purchase orders before submitting for approval.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries, and arrange supplier payments in line with agreed credit terms.

Credit Control:

  • Drive timely invoicing, ensuring invoices are sent out promptly at the beginning of each month.
  • Meet collection targets through proactive phone calls and written communication.
  • Handle customer queries with care, ensuring speedy resolutions to maintain smooth payment flows.
  • Manage and control customer Direct Debit payments, improving payment methods and terms in line with company objectives.

What You Bring:

  • Proficiency in Sage and a solid understanding of credit control and purchase ledger processes.
  • A keen eye for detail, ensuring accuracy in all financial transactions and reporting.
  • Strong communication skills to manage both internal and external relationships.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, meeting deadlines and maintaining an organised workflow.
