We are seeking a compassionate and adaptable Teaching Assistant to join a special school located between rural Horsham and Guildford. This role is ideal for individuals with diverse backgrounds such as residential support workers, care workers, learning support assistants, or individual needs assistants, who are passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) issues.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide tailored support to a small class of approximately 3 children, and occasionally on a one-to-one basis.
  • Assist in both classroom settings and extracurricular activities to ensure students' educational and emotional needs are met.
  • Work closely with a team of supportive staff to create a safe and nurturing environment for students.
  • Engage with children from primary to secondary school ages, helping them with their learning and ensuring their safety.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in roles such as residential support worker, care worker, learning support assistant, or similar positions.
  • A strong desire to work with children with SEMH needs.
  • Ability to adapt to different educational and emotional requirements of children.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of children.
