Assistant Ecologist

Horsham

A dynamic and expanding ecological consultancy is looking for an Assistant Ecologist to support a wide range of exciting projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career ecologist to gain hands-on experience in all aspects including fieldwork, ecological surveys, and habitat assessments while working alongside experienced professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with ecological surveys, including protected species and habitat assessments
  • Support data collection, analysis, and report writing
  • Help deliver mitigation and conservation strategies
  • Work collaboratively with ecologists and other environmental specialists

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
  • Some experience in field surveys and species identification (professional or voluntary)
  • A good understanding of UK wildlife legislation and ecological best practices
  • A proactive attitude and a willingness to develop new skills
