About the role as a Cover Supervisor:Academics is partnering with a reputable secondary school in Horsham to find a dedicated and reliable Cover Supervisor to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and is keen to gain experience in education. As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring that students remain engaged and on task while maintaining a positive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities for a Cover Supervisor:- Supervise classes across various subjects in the absence of the regular teacher.
- Ensure students remain focused and productive, following the lesson plans provided.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive learning environment.
- Provide additional support to students who may need assistance with their work.
- Monitor student progress and report any issues to the relevant teaching staff.
- Help with administrative tasks, including recording attendance and completing behavior reports.
- Supervise students during break times and school events.
- Work closely with teachers and staff to ensure smooth transitions between lessons and cover sessions.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- Previous experience working with young people or in an educational setting is preferred but not essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to manage classroom behavior and maintain a calm, focused environment.
