Assistant SENDCo - Mainstream Secondary School in Horsham

Academics is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant SENDCo to join a thriving mainstream secondary school in Horsham. This is a fantastic opportunity to support students with special educational needs (SEN), ensuring they receive the guidance and interventions needed to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.



Role Overview:

As an Assistant SENDCo, you will work closely with the SENDCo, teachers, and support staff to deliver high-quality SEN provision. Your role will involve coordinating support strategies, monitoring student progress, and ensuring inclusive learning practices across the school.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the SENDCo in implementing and managing SEN provision across the school.

  • Assist with the assessment and review of students with SEN, including contributing to EHCPs and liaising with external agencies.

  • Work closely with teachers to develop and implement differentiated strategies for students with additional needs.

  • Provide training and guidance to staff on best practices for supporting SEN students in a mainstream setting.



What We're Looking For:

  • A recognised teaching qualification (QTS) or relevant SEN qualification.

  • Experience working with SEN students in a mainstream secondary school.

  • Strong knowledge of SEN legislation, EHCP processes, and inclusive teaching strategies.
