Pineapple Careers is delighted to partner with a leading School located on the outskirts of Horsham to recruit a Gardener on a full-time, permanent basis. Key Responsibilities:
- Take pride in maintaining the school’s grounds, gardens and outdoor areas to ensure a welcoming and well-kept environment
- Operate and maintain a variety of machinery, including mowers and tractors to ensure the grounds are kept pristine
- Grown and nurture a variety of plants, flowers and shrubs following seasonal requirements
- Maintaining flowerbeds, pots and planters
- Cutting hedges and leaf clearance
- Monitor plant health, identify any diseases or pests and take appropriate action
- Mowing Lawns, weeding, strimming and pruning
- Soil preparation and planting
- Collaborate with the team to provide support across the school’s facilities as needed
- Ensuring all Health & Safety requirements are adhered to and always maintained
Key Skills:
- Self-starter with a proactive and enthusiastic approach
- Exceptional attention to detail and pride in delivering high-quality results
- Flexible and willing to take on a wide range of gardening and maintenance tasks
- Skilled in driving and operating equipment such as mowers and tractors
- Strong team player who is happy to help others as needed
- Trustworthy, reliable, and always maintains a Health & Safety-first mindset
- Holds a valid UK Driver’s Licence
- This role will require a full DBS check
Personal Profile:
- Proven experience in gardening or grounds maintenance roles
- Confident in using a variety of hand and power tools
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks as required
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Hardworking, detail-orientated
- Motivated by achieving exceptional results
Salary & Benefits:
- £28,000
- Monday to Friday, 08.00 - 16.30
- Generous Pension Contribution
- 20 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
