Pineapple Careers is delighted to partner with a leading School located on the outskirts of Horsham to recruit a Gardener on a full-time, permanent basis. Do you have previous experience in grounds or garden maintenance? Are you proactive and passionate about developing and maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces? If so, we’d love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take pride in maintaining the school’s grounds, gardens and outdoor areas to ensure a welcoming and well-kept environment
  • Operate and maintain a variety of machinery, including mowers and tractors to ensure the grounds are kept pristine
  • Grown and nurture a variety of plants, flowers and shrubs following seasonal requirements
  • Maintaining flowerbeds, pots and planters
  • Cutting hedges and leaf clearance
  • Monitor plant health, identify any diseases or pests and take appropriate action
  • Mowing Lawns, weeding, strimming and pruning
  • Soil preparation and planting
  • Collaborate with the team to provide support across the school’s facilities as needed
  • Ensuring all Health & Safety requirements are adhered to and always maintained

  • Exceptional attention to detail and pride in delivering high-quality results
  • Flexible and willing to take on a wide range of gardening and maintenance tasks
  • Skilled in driving and operating equipment such as mowers and tractors
  • Strong team player who is happy to help others as needed
  • Trustworthy, reliable, and always maintains a Health & Safety-first mindset
  • Holds a valid UK Driver’s Licence
  • This role will require a full DBS check

Personal Profile:

  • Proven experience in gardening or grounds maintenance roles
  • Confident in using a variety of hand and power tools
  • Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks as required
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Hardworking, detail-orientated
  • Motivated by achieving exceptional results

Salary & Benefits:

  • £28,000
  • Monday to Friday, 08.00 - 16.30
  • Generous Pension Contribution
  • 20 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays

  • Uniform and all PPE provided
