A well-established Manufacturer is seeking a Production Controller to join their team.As a Production Controller you’ll keep things running smoothly by managing orders, making sure materials are stocked, and ensuring everything is in line with company policies. You’ll need to be proactive, a good problem solver, and great at keeping things organized.

Production Controller responsibilities:

  • Keep track of materials and place orders on time to avoid delays.
  • Update and manage smart sheet logs so production and support teams have the right info.
  • Check incoming orders for mistakes, fix them if you can, or pass them to the right person.
  • Work closely with sales, production, and procurement teams to keep everything running smoothly.
  • Spot and address recurring order issues to improve processes.
  • Make sure job sheets are clear and correct before they go into production.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate good prices without sacrificing quality.
  • Help with stock counts at month-end and quarterly checks.
  • Monitor rebates and supplier performance to maximize savings.
  • Ensure updates and changes are shared across departments quickly.
  • Assist with general tasks and step in to cover team members during busy periods or absences.
  • Take on special projects assigned by management.
  • Follow company policies on health & safety, HR, and ethics.

Skills & experience required:

  • Learn on the job and work with the Production Support Manager to develop new skills.
  • Look for ways to improve processes and make things more efficient.
  • Maintain great customer service within the team and across departments.
  • Find gaps in current workflows and help improve them.
  • Proficient IT skills
  • Understand the markets in which they operate and the position of various major competitors in those markets
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organisational abilities
  • Polite phone manner and well-spoken
