Cover Supervisor - Horsham

Academics is seeking a confident and proactive Cover Supervisor to join a fantastic school in Horsham. This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain classroom experience and develop their teaching skills, whether you're an aspiring teacher or an experienced educator.

Role Overview:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will step in to lead lessons in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring students remain engaged and on task. You will be responsible for managing the classroom, delivering pre-planned work, and maintaining a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons across a range of subjects.
  • Manage classroom behaviour and ensure students stay on task.
  • Provide guidance and support to students as needed.
  • Follow school policies and procedures to maintain a structured learning environment.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to ensure smooth lesson transitions.
What We're Looking For:
  • Previous experience working with young people in a classroom or similar setting (preferred but not essential).

  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (the school is not easily accessible by public transport).
  • Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
