Business Development Manager - Private Sector
- Salary: Depending on experience - up to £120k OTE plus benefits (uncapped)
- Location: Home based with UK Travel

My client is seeking a Business Development Manager to support their growth plans within the Utilities, Housing Associations, and wider commercial sectors. This role offers the opportunity to significantly influence the direction of our business by identifying and closing new business opportunities, researching new markets, and cultivating client relationships to directly contribute to revenue growth.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Achieve individual new business sales targets.
- Research and exploit new markets.
- Fully understand the service offering and customer benefits.
- Take full ownership of individual Pipeline Identification and Management alongside sales forecasting.
- Lead on customer-facing sales meetings and the strategic approach to business development.
- Work successfully with other internal teams to refine and articulate the pitch book.
- Understand buying patterns and client challenges to engage and develop new relationships.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- A track record of new business development in one or more of the following market sectors: Housing Associations, Utilities, Finance.
- Minimum of five years’ sales experience.
- Demonstrable evidence of hitting/exceeding sales targets.
- Experienced in selling managed services and/or point solutions with typical deal values of circa £250k.
- Experience of managing a pipeline of opportunities using CRM.
- Excellent relationship-building skills.
- Experience of presenting at all levels (up to and including Finance Directors and C-suite).
