We are seeking a Project Support Engineer/Supervisor (Comms Systems) to join a long term telecoms project at Heathrow Airport and involves supporting several communication system projects within airport and rail environments. The position is a 12-month contract opportunity with the projects scheduled to last much longer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work within the project processes and standards to support IT Minor Works at Heathrow and other sites as required.
- Manage suppliers, ensuring that project processes are meticulously followed.
- Assist with identifying future demands and ensuring resources/services meet these demands.
- Produce regular reports and maintain project folders as requested.
- Ensure smooth handover of projects to relevant departments, maintaining accurate documentation.
- Act as the focal point for project coordination with planning supervisors, construction managers, and various airport clients.
- Collaborate with stakeholder to discuss requirements and scope and achieve successful project conclusions.
- Assist in the production of work packs for Framework Partners upon acceptance of quotations.
Job Requirements:
- Substantial skills and experience in telecoms or networking support functions.
- Broad knowledge of specialised telecoms services in an enterprise and service provider environment.
- Airport services experience would be advantageous.
- Experience in LAN technology is essential.
- Experience in wireless technology, CCTV, and Access Control Systems.
- An experienced professional with a proven track record in operational roles within IT, Networking, or Engineering.
- Formally educated to C&G, HNC, or A-level standard.
- Formal project management, network technology, or IT systems training is desirable.
- Proficiency in MS Project, MS Visio, MS Excel, MS Word is essential. Specific training on company applications will be provided.
