Job description:

Capture, evaluate, and prioritize IT service and project requests, ensuring alignment with strategic goals while balancing short-term needs with long-term capacity. Use data analytics and forecasting techniques to predict future demand and capacity. Execute mechanisms for balancing resources across the IT department.

Ensure Demand Management process continually reviews the balance of 'Biz Ops' and traditional IT managed services, taking account of 'local' IT product teams need to assess their own demand management mechanisms/backlogs etc.

Ensure Demand Management Tool Set is used efficiently and effectively across IT and cyber department. Continually review effectivity of process and refine accordingly.

Ensure wider business demands on IT resource are captured and fed into overall planning process. These include Procurement, Risk & Assurance, Finance and People Team etc. Ensure a framework exists for capturing, processing and allocating ownership within IT.

Develop and manage the IT investment portfolio with the HPMO, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities. Conduct financial analysis (e.g., NPV, ROI) to assess investment viability and maintain governance to adapt to changing business needs.

Develop resource plans in collaboration with other IT teams to ensure robust forecasting of future FTE headcount. Instigate plans and discussions to ensure the optimal blend of Permanent and contingent resources, feeding into business planning (MBP) and cognisant of wider IT transformation business case.

Collaborate with business and IT leaders to align the IT portfolio with organizational strategy. Develop and maintain IT roadmaps, ensuring alignment with resources, budgets, and business timelines, while prioritizing investments that support strategic goals.

Build relationships with business and IT teams to understand needs and communicate the value of IT investments. Provide regular updates to senior management and present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.

Track KPIs for demand and investment management, using data analytics and visualization tools to monitor performance and provide actionable insights for informed decision-making in investment prioritization and resource allocation.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement by applying lean and agile methodologies, driving process enhancements, and optimising demand intake, prioritisation, and financial forecasting for better planning and resource allocation.
