About the Job:

.You'll lead the continuous development of procurement delivery, acting as a centre of excellence within the organisation.

? You'll develop the strategic procurement function to deliver effective and value for money contracts for the organisation.

? You'll shape, guide and implement changes within the team to keep current with industry best practice, legislation and compliance.

? You'll make a significant contribution to the leadership of the Business Partnering - Procurement team, ensuring it supports and enables the delivery of corporate priorities and the transformation agenda.

Duties:

>You'll work effectively as one of the clients managers, delivering corporate objectives through the work of service departments.

>You'll form effective working arrangements with members, partners, government departments, user groups, businesses and voluntary sector groups.

>You'll manage the procurement business partnership team to be trusted and influential advisors for the client, providing insight, creativity and support

>You'll contribute to procurement and contract policy direction and lead on adherence to these policies.

Experience:

? You have experience and consistent achievement at a management level in an organisation of comparable scope and complexity.

? You understand the procurement and financial strategies and how they support the organisation in delivering its commitments.

? You have experience of planning and delivering work and projects of a high level of complexity.

.You have an understanding of local democracy and the governance, processes, practices and culture required.

? You are comfortable in preparing work for councillors and advising them within your area of expertise.

? You have led change and improvement pieces of work within your area of expertise and contributed to wider transformational programmes.

? You can demonstrate procurement management experience in a large public service organisation.

? You have proven ability to provide procurement and contract advice to staff at all levels including compliance with procurement legislation, legal and statutory requirements.

.You have a high level of management credibility and are able to motivate and manage services to deliver against their goals.
