Our client is looking for an experienced National Transport Manager to oversee transportation operations across the group, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance. This role provides an excellent opportunity to manage the company's fleet while leading improvements in all aspects of transport operations.
As the National Transport Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that all vehicles are roadworthy and compliant with legal standards, maintaining safety protocols, and effectively managing budgets. You will oversee driver performance, implement initiatives to reduce insurance claims and take charge of all transport operations, including route planning and the efficient allocation of driver resources.
In addition to managing the daily functions of the transport department, you will be expected to maintain accurate records and schedules, ensuring operational consistency. A critical aspect of the role is enforcing health and safety procedures, with a focus on ensuring compliance and implementing safety improvements.
You will be experienced in a transport management role, ideally with depot or warehouse management experience. Familiarity with FORS Bronze and Silver requirements is essential, and experience handling heavy goods or equipment is desirable. A Management CPC qualification is mandatory.
This role requires a strong leader who is innovative and forward-thinking, capable of managing and developing teams while maintaining high operational standards. You will be a logical thinker, able to remain calm and determined under pressure, with a proactive approach to solving problems and achieving goals.
In return, you will receive a competitive salary between 50,000 - 55,000, plus company benefits.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 47.5 hours per week.
