We are looking for a Service Manager to coordinate and develop local health services, ensuring they meet standards, legal requirements, and budget constraints. This role involves networking with health and social care bodies to advocate for local needs and manage health projects effectively.

Day to day of the role:
  • Manage and monitor health projects, coordinating daily service operations and identifying improvements.
  • Achieve local and team targets, ensuring services are delivered effectively.
  • Conduct community needs assessments and build relationships with partners to enhance health services.
  • Act as the main liaison with trusts, Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs), and local authorities.
  • Collaborate to create new business opportunities, negotiate and manage service contracts.
  • Develop and monitor plans and budgets, ensuring services meet beneficiaries’ needs.
  • Maintain records and provide operational reports.
  • Manage Health Service Coordinators and Service Assistants, overseeing volunteer coordination, recruitment, and training.
  • Provide leadership and support to the local team, promoting authentic, consistent, and honest leadership.
  • Ensure team members understand their roles and manage resources according to policies.
  • Participate in team meetings and support colleagues, upholding Red Cross values and principles.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Office 365.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Experience in service delivery and stakeholder management.
  • Proven ability in service development and contracts.
  • Strong skills in quality and performance management.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to manage and empower a team.
  • Must pass pre-engagement checks such as Enhanced DBS check (England and Wales), PVG check (Scotland), or AccessNI check (Northern Ireland).
