Position: Quality Manager
Location: Near Howden, East Yorkshire
Salary: £35,000 depending on experience
Hours: Full-Time, Permanent (Monday to Friday) some weekend cover may be required.
 

Staff Power Group is working with a manufacturing client near Howden, who is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in a growing, dynamic business specializing in high-quality food production.

Role Overview:

As the Quality Manager, you will lead the Quality Department, overseeing food safety, quality systems, and compliance with legislative requirements. You’ll drive continuous improvement, manage stakeholder relationships, and support third-party audits to uphold the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure site quality systems meet customer, legislative, and industry standards.
  • Lead investigations into customer complaints, non-conformances, and defect reports, ensuring effective root cause analysis.
  • Promote and maintain a strong food safety culture and high hygiene standards.
  • Manage Quality Department activities and team performance to meet business objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Develop and manage the Quality Department budget and KPIs.
  • Lead preparation for internal and external audits, including BRC V9 and retailer standards.
  • Recruit, develop, and motivate the Quality team, ensuring consistent high performance.
  • Support risk assessments, hygiene schedules, and GMP audits.
  • Act as a key member of the HACCP, TACCP, and VACCP teams, ensuring compliance and best practices.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in Technical/Quality management within food manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of retailer codes of practice and UK retail customer-facing roles.
  • Thorough understanding of food safety legislation and industry best practices.
  • HACCP Level 3-4 and TACCP/VACCP qualifications required.
  • BRC V9 experience essential.
  • Level 4 Food Hygiene, NEBOSH/IOSH, or Lead Auditor qualifications desirable.
