An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Building Safety Manager to join a dedicated team within the Building Safety sector. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety of residents and meeting Building Safety obligations, focusing on the big safety 6: Fire Safety, Asbestos, Gas Safety, Electrical Safety, Lifts, and Water Quality. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering Building Safety-related legislative requirements in high-rise blocks and will be a champion for building safety across the stock.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Support the wider safety team in attaining compliance with the big safety 6.
  • Deliver services in your area of specialism across the housing stock.
  • Ensure compliance with Building Safety-related legislative and regulatory requirements, particularly in high-rise blocks over 18m.
  • Manage information to meet golden thread requirements and maintain processes to manage physical changes in the building.
  • Engage with residents, stakeholders, partners, and communities to establish trust and promote the organisation positively.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Building Safety-related legislative, regulatory requirements, and best practice.
  • Understanding of building design principles, structural design, and factors affecting structural stability and fire safety performance.
  • Substantial experience in delivering against requirements in your area of specialism.
  • Degree-level education, professional qualification, or significant experience in a related field.
  • Current membership of a relevant professional body.
  • Motivational leadership skills.
  • Proficient in written communication and report writing.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project and risk management skills.
  • Financial and numeracy skills.
