SEMH 1:1 Teaching Assistant

Job SummaryNextGen are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEMH 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support our educational team in fostering a positive learning environment. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers and students, particularly those with Social, Emotional Mental Health needs.

Roles

  • Support students with their learning activities
  • Supervise students during class and other school activities, maintaining a safe and orderly environment.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who require additional assistance.
  • Foster positive relationships with students

Experience

  • Previous experience working with children with SEMH is preferred
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being able to take initiative when required.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting student learning and development.
  • Basic knowledge of educational practices or child development principles is advantageous.
  • The familiarity of 'TeamTeach' and the willingness to complete the course
