Audit Manager Job Vacancy
We are delighted to be representing a contemporary independent accountancy firm that forms part of a well regarded national network in their search for an Audit Manager in Huddersfield to join their expanding, modern team and support the Audi Partners with the provision of audit for a growing portfolio of exciting client, predominantly SMEs.
This opportunity will suit someone who is ACA, ACCA, or CA qualified or QBE and we're keen to meet accountants with at least 4 years of practice experience. You will have excellent communication and client relationship skills and attention to detail will also be essential for this role.
You will likely be working already as a Senior looking for a step up, or you will already be working at manager level and be excited to develop and showcase your skills in audit. You will be ready to support the Partners in creating a positive working environment, whilst ensuring the highest quality service is delivered. You will be excited to work as part of a brilliant team who create the highest standard of audit solutions for valued clients. This role involves significant team management and it will be up to the successful candidate to monitor the team workflow, performance and output so we're keen to meet Audit Managers with transferable skills in HR and people management.

Job Purpose
- Oversight of the provision of audit services in the office and in the field.
- Responsibility for management of the audit team.
- Monitor client deadlines and ensure these are met.
- Oversee the allocation of work, workflow and ensure deadlines are met and client expectations are exceeded.
- Identify and assess risk.
- Support the Partners with business development. Showcase a commercial mindset and offer innovative ideas towards achieving growth.
- Confidently lead and inspire the team, championing the firm’s values within the team.
- Provide professional and personable client-facing communication skills, nurture client relationships, secure new ones and retain existing ones.
- Support the Partners and fellow managers on ad hoc projects as required.

The Successful Applicant
- ACA, ACCA, or CA qualified or QBE with supervisory level audit experience within practice
- Self-motivated, confident and ambitious
- Supervisory level experience and a drive to progress to mentor and train junior accountants
- Technically efficient in both audit and accounting
- People management experience
- Effective client relationship skills
- An excellent work ethic
- Commercial business acumen and innovative ideas
- Great people skills and the ability to network and procure new business for the firm
