Alecto Recruitment are representing a specialist in both new and used commercial vehicles, offering a diverse range of trucks and trailers tailored to various industries, including construction, haulage, and waste management. Their inventory features vehicles from renowned brands such as DAF, Volvo, Scania, Mercedes-Benz, and MAN.

We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Parts Advisor to join our team. As the primary point of contact for production and manufacturing staff, you will ensure that parts ordering and allocation processes run smoothly to avoid any delays in operations. Your knowledge of working in a fast-paced parts department within a manufacturing environment, alongside your strong organizational skills, will be key in supporting the Parts Manager with efficient stock management and accurate stocktakes.

Duties:

Technical Duties:

  • Manage retail parts sales from inquiry through to invoice, ensuring timely payments are received.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, both in-person, over the phone, and via email.
  • Oversee the management of all parts requirements for internal departments.
  • Maintain strong supplier and customer liaison to ensure accurate parts ordering and cost-effective sourcing.
  • Order parts for two sites, including both stock items and bespoke parts requirements.
  • Coordinate waste removal on-site.
  • Manage bespoke part orders and ensure competitive supplier pricing by benchmarking and bulk purchasing.
  • Produce bespoke reports for accounts and the management team.

System Management:

  • Create work orders for external suppliers.
  • Manage the department's parts orders inbox.
  • Book parts to corresponding jobs in the absence of the Parts Manager.
  • Conduct monthly audits to ensure part costs and nominal codes are correct.
  • Handle the Goods In process, ensuring deli notes and system updates are accurate.
  • Coordinate Goods Out and system allocation.
  • Regularly perform stock checks and maintain purchase orders.
  • Conduct invoice checks and maintain department housekeeping standards.

Ad-hoc Duties:

  • Assist the Health and Safety Officer with tasks, such as ladder checks, van logs, first aid orders, and ensuring any unsafe equipment is removed from service and replaced promptly.
  • Maintain the near-miss book.
  • Drive company vans when required.
  • Provide telephone support and general administrative assistance as needed.

Required Skills:

  • Full, clean driving license.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong technical knowledge of the industry and an understanding of industry compliance.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Proactive attitude with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Health & Safety awareness.
  • Experience as a Stores Person/Storeman/Parts Advisor/Warehouse worker/Picker/Packer
