Are you an experienced Industrial Engineer with a passion for optimizing manufacturing processes? Our client, Turbo Technologies, a leading player in the manufacturing industry, is seeking a skilled Industrial Engineer to join their dynamic team in Huddersfield. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives on identifying inefficiencies, reducing waste, and driving process improvements.

About the Role:

As part of the larger manufacturing team, you’ll spend most of your time on the production floor, observing and analysing current processes, to reduce waste and improve equipment performance. While most of your work will be onsite, paperwork and documentation tasks can be completed from home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead work studies for both new and existing production lines
  • Develop and implement standard work methods across production lines
  • Drive projects aimed at optimising manufacturing processes, ensuring they meet safety requirements, business goals, and product specifications
  • Apply manufacturing principles and best practices to continuously improve processes and equipment
  • Maintain and enforce industry standards, ensuring compliance with company standards
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, coaching and influencing key members of the team
  • Perform line balancing, time studies, and SMED reduction to optimise efficiency

Must-Have Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (mechanical experience not required)
  • Proven experience in industrial engineering, including line balancing, time study, and SMED reduction
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Apprentice-trained background
  • Experience with AutoCAD

Key Competencies:

  • Effective communication skills tailored to different audiences
  • Strong understanding of ergonomic fundamentals, ensuring safe work environments
  • Expertise in work measurement and workstation design to reduce waste and optimise processes
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards to promote a proactive safety culture
  • Ability to document manufacturing procedures and ensure standardisation across teams
  • Proficiency in process simulation and data mining for data-driven decision-making
  • Ability to design efficient process layouts and conduct manufacturing analysis-led design

Qualifications:

  • Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or a related field, or equivalent experience
