Role Overview:

Our client, a highly respected main contractor based in Huddersfield, is seeking a skilled and ambitious Quantity Surveyor (QS) to join their dynamic team. Specialising in high-end fit-out projects within the bar, leisure, and restaurant sectors, the role will offer the chance to work on exciting, high-quality projects.

The successful candidate will take on both Quantity Surveying and Estimating responsibilities, ensuring the smooth delivery of projects and providing valuable input to clients. The QS will work closely with clients to understand their needs and create bespoke schedules of works. Key Responsibilities:

Cost Management: Oversee cost control, monitoring, and reporting for high-end fit-out projects within the bar, leisure, and restaurant sectors.

Estimating Duties: Take on estimating responsibilities, including pricing projects, preparing tenders, and assisting with bid submissions.

Client Liaison: Develop strong relationships with clients to understand their requirements and provide expert guidance on project costs.

Bespoke Schedules of Work: Write and manage bespoke schedules of works tailored to the unique needs of each client and project.

Site Visits: Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure that works are carried out according to budget, quality, and schedule.

Value Engineering: Provide cost-effective solutions to enhance the quality and efficiency of the projects while maintaining client satisfaction.

Reporting: Provide detailed cost reports to senior management, ensuring accurate and up-to-date financial performance of projects.

Requirements:

Experience: At least 4 years of post graduate experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with experience in estimating and delivering high-end fit-out projects, preferably in the bar, leisure, or restaurant sectors.

Qualifications: A degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification.

Skills:

Strong understanding of cost management, estimating, and procurement processes.

Experience in client-facing roles with the ability to understand and meet bespoke requirements.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Full driving license and ability to travel to project sites.
