Primary SEND Teaching Assistant

Are you a passionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant looking for flexible work in primary schools? We are recruiting SEND TAs to support pupils with special educational needs in schools across Huddersfield on a temporary, supply basis.

The role:

  • Support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a 1:1 basis or in small groups.
  • Work closely with teachers and other school staff to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Assist the class teacher with behaviour management.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Adapt classroom activities to meet the needs of SEN students
  • Adapt support to meet individual pupil needs, including those with autism, ADHD, speech & language difficulties, and other additional needs.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEND in a school or similar setting.
  • A patient, caring, and proactive approach.
  • Strong behaviour management skills.
  • Minimum of a Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
  • DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
