Building Surveyor

We are seeking a Building Surveyor to provide technical expertise in all aspects of building maintenance and surveying. This role involves preparing detailed specifications, planning and monitoring work, and contributing towards the Asset Management Plan. You will also provide specialist advice on issues such as damp, mould, condensation, timber infestations, and structural defects, and manage specialist works related to these areas.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide specialist advice and manage works related to damp, mould, condensation, timber infestations, and structural defects.
  • Prepare detailed specifications for building maintenance and surveying projects.
  • Plan and monitor work progress, ensuring alignment with the Asset Management Plan.
  • Interact effectively and sensitively with a range of stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Maintain accurate records and high-quality communications.
  • Manage individual budgets with a focus on budgetary control.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience of working to find the root cause of damp, mould, condensation etc.
  • ONC or equivalent (Level 3 BTEC in Construction and the Built Environment) or relevant City and Guilds qualification or working towards such qualification.
  • HNC or equivalent (Level 4 in Construction and the Built Environment) or equivalent experience in a Building Surveying environment or working towards qualification.
  • Proven track record of delivering targets and goals within operational plans.
  • Ability to work effectively with partner organisations to achieve common goals.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety, Equality and Diversity, Safeguarding legislation relevant to the role.
  • Travel to various locations is required; possession of a full and valid driving licence and a car available for work is required.
  • An enhanced DBS check is required for this position.
