Transport Planner

Huddersfield

£30,000 - £35,000 + £1,000 shift allowance

37.5 Hours per week – Day Shifts

I’m currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Planner to join a leading Fuel distributor who specialise within commercial petrochemical distribution. 

Shifts: 37.5 hours per week, covering early (6am-3pm), mid (7am-4pm), and late (9am-6pm) shifts, including weekend rotation (6am-6pm, 4 weekends in every 13 weeks).

The Candidate;

  • Previous experience within a Transport operation within a planner position
  • ADR / Tanker route planning experience is highly desirable
  • Previous experience within a fast paced transport position
  • A good understanding of Drivers hours regulations
  • Ability to work a rotational shift pattern (earlies, lates, and weekends).
  • Experience of using system based planning tools
  • A strong knowledge of tachograph regulations
  • Strong administrative skills
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Competent decision making
  • Good geographical knowledge  

Duties and Responsibilities;

  • Efficiently plan and optimise fuel deliveries using a computerised system.
  • Ensure all customer requirements are met safely and cost-effectively.
  • React swiftly to operational challenges and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Work independently and as part of a team in a fast-moving environment.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Using geographical knowledge to maximise the fleet ability to work
  • Ensuring drivers are up to date with any road problems and challenging drivers when needed to ensure Deliveries are on time
