Description
- Planning transport routes and schedules to ensure efficient delivery of goods.
- Coordinating with drivers and monitoring their progress to ensure timely deliveries.
- Implementing strategies to minimise transport costs and enhance operational efficiency.
- Ensuring compliance with transport policies, procedures and legal regulations.
- Identifying and resolving any transport-related issues or delays.
- Preparing and presenting transport performance reports.
- Maintaining a strong working relationship with drivers and other staff.
- Assisting in the continuous improvement of transport systems and practices.
Profile
A successful Transport Planner should have:
- Experience in transport planning and logistics within the transport and distribution industry.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work various shift patterns (mornings, evenings, nights, weekends)
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel
