An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Laboratory Technician to join a dedicated team in a thriving business in the process industry. This role involves conducting a range of analytical and microbiological tests, maintaining accurate records, and supporting compliance with industry regulations.**Shift based role – this will be working a 5-week cycle working a mixture of 12-hour days and nights**Key Responsibilities:
  • Collecting and analysing various samples from across the plant, ensuring accurate and repeatable results.
  • Interpreting test results, identifying any issues, and taking appropriate action, including raising out-of-specification reports where necessary.
  • Carrying out quality control and housekeeping inspections, reporting any concerns.
  • Calibrating and maintaining analytical equipment.
  • Ensuring full compliance with ISO 9001 quality system requirements ensuring documentation is clear and accurate.
  • Supporting adherence to BRC food safety standards, including participation in HACCP requirements.
  • Compiling fermentation quality and process reports and discussing any concerns with the Laboratory Manager.
Key Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or biology is preferable.
  • Experience working in a laboratory environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Knowledge of analytical and microbiological testing and techniques.
  • Knowledge of food safety, HACCP, and quality control processes is desirable.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be willing to work a rotating shift pattern which includes 12 hours days and nights.
