- Collecting and analysing various samples from across the plant, ensuring accurate and repeatable results.
- Interpreting test results, identifying any issues, and taking appropriate action, including raising out-of-specification reports where necessary.
- Carrying out quality control and housekeeping inspections, reporting any concerns.
- Calibrating and maintaining analytical equipment.
- Ensuring full compliance with ISO 9001 quality system requirements ensuring documentation is clear and accurate.
- Supporting adherence to BRC food safety standards, including participation in HACCP requirements.
- Compiling fermentation quality and process reports and discussing any concerns with the Laboratory Manager.
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or biology is preferable.
- Experience working in a laboratory environment.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Knowledge of analytical and microbiological testing and techniques.
- Knowledge of food safety, HACCP, and quality control processes is desirable.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be willing to work a rotating shift pattern which includes 12 hours days and nights.
