Job description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Bookkeeper to join the accounts department of a well-established and reputable business based in East Yorkshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented professional looking to contribute to a dynamic team.



Key responsibilities:

  • Manage sales and purchase ledgers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns and CIS returns in compliance with regulations.
  • Handle credit control tasks, including monitoring and chasing outstanding payments.
  • Oversee supplier payments, ensuring timely and efficient processing.
  • Post journals to maintain up-to-date financial records.
  • Assist in the preparation of management accounts to support financial decision-making.
  • Collaborate in the preparation of year-end files, ensuring accuracy and completeness for reporting purposes.

Required skills and experience:

  • Proficiency in Sage software is essential, with hands-on experience in its use.
  • Previous experience working within an accounts office or a similar environment is highly advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
