Purpose of the Role

The role of the Material Controller is to plan and forecast material requirements for various projects in line and with the production plan and companies needs and to ensure the availability parts and materials with emphasis on "On Time Delivery in Full".

Job Role and Duties

  • Raising and placing purchase orders in line with the materials and consumable forecast requirements
  • Provide update on material status and issues (internal and external supply) whilst taking appropriate actions and expediting to satisfy production plans and companies demands.
  • Updating schedules and stating material readiness within the appropriate time frame, in accordance with the System of Work.
  • Ensuring that material issues are resolved in a timely manner, kept up to date or escalated where appropriate.
  • Maintaining stock levels in line with the production plan with the use of delivery schedules.
  • Monitor the level of available of stock.
  • Cross-reference Bill of Materials to ensure understanding of all products required and ordered accordingly
  • Re-order for known stock damages and lost stock
  • Represent the Materials Function at meetings with regard to designated areas.
  • Resolve invoice & booking in queries in a timely manner.
  • liaising with internal stakeholders and external suppliers and form a good relationship
  • Participate in the assessment of departmental policies and procedures on a periodic basis to identify improvements and confirm that they are appropriate for business needs.

The Person:

  • Previous Stock / Material Control experience is essential.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Interpersonal skills - verbal and written.
  • Experience in fast paced manufacturing environment
