Civil and Structural Engineer

Jackson Hogg are delighted to be supporting a leading engineering consultancy in the appointment of a Civil and Structural Engineer based in Hull. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in producing suitable design solutions and documentation for a range of construction projects, ensuring compliance to project requirements and codes of practice. You will support the delivering of defined engineering tasks for minor modifications and projects to the highest standards, complying with legal obligations and client requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce structural steelwork designs and analysis to support process equipment and plant which are compliant with the relevant codes and regulations
  • Ensure structural designs are delivered in line with the project scope, schedule and budget
  • Liaise with internal and external civil, and/ or structural designers as required
  • When required, assist in the production of scope of works with clearly defined deliverables
  • Where required provide client facing support
  • Document updates to designs and ensure any changes are recorded in accordance to company procedure.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering or Higher HND/Higher BTEC qualification
  • Relevant design engineering in the delivery of minor modifications
  • Experienced suporting projects through full life cycle including preFEEDS, FEEDs and EPC phases within the chemicals, petrochemicals, oil and gas, and power generation industries.
  • Experienced in working to the latest BS & Eurocode design standards
  • Proficient in the use of licensed design software, such as STAAD, Tekla Designer and S-Frame
  • Understand project control processes and management of budget and scope changes
  • Experience working within the procurement life-cycle including specification, enquiry & post order support (equipment and subcontracts).
  • Work well with designers, project engineers and managers
  • Delivery on time in full for responsible scope.
  • 37.5 hours per week - flexible working hours + 2pm finish on a Friday
